They include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Paraplegia<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; loss of movement and sensation in the lower half of the body<\/span><\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Tetraplegia <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; paralysis of all limbs<\/span><\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Triplegia<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; paralysis of three limbs, e.g. two legs and one arm<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Incomplete spinal cord injuries are characterized by partial damage to the spinal cord, they include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Anterior cord syndrome<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 this is usually caused when the anterior artery is damaged, this mainly affects the sensory pathways and occasionally certain motor functions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Brown-Sequard syndrome<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 trauma or punctures can lead to this debilitating condition that leaves one side of the body desensitized, weak and, occasionally, paralyzed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Central cord syndrome<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 is what happens when the central point of the spinal cord is injured. This is the most common injury. Usually, you lose sensation in your arms and hands and may suffer from limited motion.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Common Causes of Spinal Cord Injuries<\/span><\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unfortunately, there are many ways to end up with a spinal cord injury. Examples include American football, rugby, wrestling, and ice hockey.
