As a surprise to everyone, Jian Ghomeshi appeared in court, given that it was just an opportunity to set a date for the hearing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One reporter asked: \u201cWhat\u2019s your response to the new charges?\u201d His lawyer, Marie Henein, said that Ghomeshi will plead not guilty. No other comments were provided. Isaac Zisckind, Diamond &amp; Diamond Personal Injury Lawyers, told CHCH News that their appearance would have been well planned: \u201cWe\u2019re talking about charges that could end him up with a lot of years in jail. I doubt any move he makes during the next year while this trial will be going on is going to be uncalculated. I don\u2019t think it\u2019s just ego. I think his lawyer will be very smart in every way \u2014 how he walks into the courtroom, how he dresses, how his hair looks, how his face looks. That\u2019s part of her strategy.
